No Difference between Shias, Sunnis for US-Backed Terrorists
Speaking at a religious session on Tuesday, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei slammed Washington for supporting the Daesh terrorist group and said the reason why the US has helped Deash elements move to Afghanistan is for the arrogant country to justify its continued presence in the region and create security for the Zionist regime of Israel.
The very hands that created Daesh and used it as a means for oppressing and committing crimes against the people of Syria and Iraq, today, after defeats in those countries, are seeking to move Daesh to Afghanistan and the recent massacres there are actually the beginning of this very plot, the Leader said.
“For US-backed terrorists, there is no distinction between Shias and Sunnis and they target civilian people including both Shias and Sunnis,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Americans, who themselves are the main factor behind insecurity in Afghanistan are now creating even more insecurity in the country to justify their presence and advance their political and economic agenda in the region, the Leader added.
In recent weeks, suicide attacks by terrorist groups like Daesh have surged in Afghanistan.
Tens of innocent people have been killed and hundreds more injured in the attacks.
