Sindhi Translation of Sahifah Sajjadiyyah Published in Pakistan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Sahifah Sajjadiyyah, the valuable book by Imam Sajjad (AS), has been translated into Sindhi language with the cooperation of the Iranian Cultural Center in Hyderabad, Pakistan.

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Asghariyyah Publications in Pakistan and ICRO’s Center for Translation and Dissemination of Islamic Teachings and Human Sciences cooperated in the translation project.

It was a part of the organization’s “TOP” plan to publish translations of Iranian and Islamic works in other countries.

Mushtaq Masroor Baricho rendered the book into Sindhi. The Sindhi version has been published in 1000 copies.

Sahifah Sajjadiyyah is regarded as the oldest prayer manual in Islamic sources and one of the most seminal works of Islamic spirituality of the early period. It is also known as Sahifah Al-Kamilah, Sister of the Qur'an and Psalms of the Household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

It is a collection of supplications and whispered prayers composed by the great-grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) including supplication for the coming of the holy month of Ramadan, supplications in hardship, for well-being, for parents, for neighbors and friends, for people of the frontiers, in seeking needs from God and for good outcomes, etc.

Sindhi is an Indo-Aryan language of the historical Sindh region, spoken by the Sindhi people. It is the official language of the Pakistani province of Sindh.
