Speaking in a press conference on Sunday, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, head of the Quranic Affairs Department of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization which organizes the contest, said 52 educational workshops and an exhibition of Quranic achievements will also be organized during the event.
He noted that a number of veteran Quran activists are also planned to be honored at the event.
The competition is slated to kick off in Rasht, northern province of Gilan, on Sunday, October 16.
Contenders will compete in the categories of memorization of the Quran (different levels) and recitation.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini further said 750 Quran activists, 450 men and 300 women will be present at the competition.
He said the competition will be entirely covered live by the Quran TV and Quran Radio for the first time.
Later in the press conference, the poster of the 39th national Holy Quran competition was unveiled.
