Addressing the event, Qari Sidaqat Ali, director of Sawt-al-Quran and Sheikh al-Qurra network, which broadcasts the Sawt-al-Quran program, said it was launched 25 years ago with the aim of promoting the Quran across Pakistan.
Noting that some 7000 people have embraced Islam after watching the program in these years, he added that the TV network plans to broadcast it elsewhere so that people in other parts of the world can also benefit from it.
Mawlawi Fazal-ur-Rehman, head of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam also addressed the ceremony, stressing that Pakistan has been established upon the principles of the Quran and should be run based on the Quranic teachings.
He said learning the Quran is important but even more significant is acting upon the Holy Book’s teachings.
