She was selected from among seven girls whose Quranic talent and skills were assessed by Quran experts of Iran’s committee for selecting and dispatching Quran reciters and memorizers to international contests.

Zahra Sadat achieved the highest score among the girls and was named Iran’s representative in the contest.

Born in 2007, she is a fifth grade student at a school in Neyshaboor in northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi.

She started memorizing the Quran at her neighborhood’s mosque at the age of six.

She learned the entire Holy Book by heart in two years, her mother says.

She told IQNA that Zahra Sadat is practicing with a number of Quran masters to enhance her Quranic skills.

Accompanied by her mother, Zahra Sadat will leave for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, in a few days to compete for Iran in the international Quranic event.

"She is fully prepared and will do her best for success in the competition,” her mother said.

"I cannot predict what rank she will win,” she added. "We hope she will be a good representative for our country in the contest.”

The second edition of the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition will run from November 12 to 24 in Dubai.

Seventy female Quran memorizers from different countries competed in the first edition of the competition in 2016.

Iran was represented by Hannaneh Khalafi in last year’s edition.
