The plan aims to collect old and damaged Qurans, restore proper ones, and deal with ones that can no longer be used within the religious regulations, said Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammad Khalayleh, Almamlakatv.com reported.
The initiative, he continued, comes to glorify the Book of God Almighty and prevent disrespect to it. If the conditions allow, useful copies will be restored, he stressed.
The plan runs through January 6 in all regions of Jordan according to an announced timetable, he added.
Different departments of the Ministry cooperate for the implementation of the plan, including the department of religious education.
