Seven Countries to Attend Islamic Arts Festival in Pakistan

The 3rd edition of the Karachi international Islamic arts festival will be held in November with the participation of 7 countries.

The Al-Hamra Islamic Arts and Culture Center and the Arts Council of Karachi will host the event, starting on November 18.

Historical and contemporary Islamic artworks by artists from Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Morocco will put on display at the festival.

Erfan Qurashi, director of the Islamic Arts and Culture Center, in a recent meeting with Jafar Ronas, Iranian cultural envoy, discussed the organization of the festival.

Qurashi in this meeting underlined the contributions of Iran and Turkey to the festival in the past editions and said two special pavilions will be dedicated to artworks from the two countries in the upcoming edition.

Ronas, for his part, hailed the growth of the festival and said it has helped to raise awareness about Islamic arts and develop inter-cultural relations.
